Lois Lorraine (14 May 1933 - 4 September 2013)
Lois Lorraine Hein, age
90, formerly of Ashland, Wisconsin, passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2013,
at the Gilman Care Center, in Gilman, Wisconsin.
Lois was born on May 14,
1933, in Milford, Nebraska, the daughter of Albert William and Ellen Jeanett
(Gillam) Curtis. She and Eugene Leo Hein were united in marriage, on October 1,
1983, in Mellen, Wisconsin.
Lois owned and operated a bar at the end of
Route 66, in California, was a Girl Scout volunteer for more than ten years,
worked for: the U. S. Forest Service, Louisiana Pacific, and retired from
Memorial Medical Center, in Ashland, was also a member of Post 81 of the
American Legion Auxiliary, in Duncanville, Texas.
Lois is survived by
three sons: Charles (Leann) Evey, of Spanaway, Washington, Christopher
(Rosealle) Duncan, of Jacksonville, Oregon, and Bernard Aderholt, of
Duncanville, Texas; and her daughter, Ann (Matthew) Sweda, of Lublin, Wisconsin.
She is also survived by two stepsons: Jerry Poppe, of Muscle Shoals, Alabama,
and David Poppe, of Laurel, Montana and three stepdaughters: Sandy (Van)
Johnson, of Ashland, Debra Shiflet of Dallas, Oregon, and Cheryl (Arnold) Ott,
of Laurel, Montana; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Lois
was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene, on August 4, 1999; her parents;
one brother; and one sister.
Funeral services for Lois were held at 12
noon, Monday, September 9, 2013, at the Zion Lutheran Church, in Ashland. Vicar
Rick Williams officiated. A visitation for family and friends was held at Zion
Lutheran Church in Ashland, beginning at 10 a.m. Monday, September 9, 2013, and
continued until the hour of the service. Interment in the Mount Hope Cemetery,
Highbridge, Wisconsin, followed the service at the church.
Mountain
Funeral Home and Cremation Service, of Ashland and Mellen, Wisconsin, were
entrusted with the details of her services.
