Thorson, Palma Theresa (24 June 1894 - 24 July 1957)
Funeral services for Mrs. Roy Thorson, Sr., age 53, who lived in Colby a short time, were held in Our Savior’s Lutheran church in Greenwood Friday afternoon. Rev. Alvin O. Pinke of Faith Lutheran church of Marshfield officiated and internment was made in the Greenwood cemetery at Greenwood. Mrs. Thorson died last week Wednesday at her home in Marshfield after having been in poor health since last December.
Mrs. Thorson, the former Palma Theresa Stensvold, was born in Norway on June 24, 1894, and came to this country at an early age. She received her education in Minnesota schools and was married on June 30, 1923, at Albert Lea, Minn., to Roy Thorson.
Surviving besides her husband are 10 children: Mrs. Donald (Margaret) Denk of Marshfield. Mrs. John (Gloria) Bast of Stevens Point, Roy Thorson, Jr., of Marshfield, Miss Bernelda Thorson of Racine, Larry Thorson of Waterloo, Mrs. (Trisha) Kroening of Stratford, Mrs. Andrew (Beverly) Shirpke of Milwaukee, and Muriel, Kenneth and Marilyn Thorson of Marshfield.
Also surviving are 21 grand children, a brother, Christ Stensvold of Clear Lake and three sisters - Mrs. Christ Rugroden of Centuria, Mrs. Thora Johnson of St. Croix Falls and Mrs. Ted Meinhardt of Woodruff.
