Tessmer, Pauline (21 June 1876 - 13 Aug. 1957)
Funeral services for Mrs. Charles P. Tessmer, whose death was reported last week, were held Saturday afternoon at the Colby Methodist church, Dr. Roger B. Knutsen officiating, and burial followed in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery. Pall bearers were four grand sons, Floyd, Claude, Douglas and Ralph Sossaman and Junior Tesmer and James P. Wilde, Jr.
Miss Jean Tesmer sang "Jesus, Lover of My Soul" and "Somewhere The Sun is Shining." Her mother, Mrs. Woodrow Tesmer, accompanied her at the piano. Other piano music was played by Mrs. J. F. Cross.
Mrs. Tessmer, nee Pauline Hecker, died Tuesday afternoon, Aug. 13, after a heart attack at the Marshfield, Wisconsin Hospital where she had been a patient since the previous Saturday. She was born in Milwaukee on June 21, 1876, thus reaching the age of 81 years. She came to Colby with her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Albert Hecker, when a child. She married Mr. Tessmer on November 25, 1892, at the home of her parents. He died on February 21, 1953.
Mrs. Tessmer was a member of the Royal Neighbors and the Ladies Aid of the Colby Methodist church. She was of a friendly disposition so friendship’s circle to her was a large one. She will be missed by many.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Axel (Helene) Anderson of Montebello, Calif., Mrs. Wallace (Florence) Sossaman of Colby and Mrs. Ernest (June) Passehl of Whittier, Calif.; one brother, Dealo Hecker of Fond du Lac; 15 grand children and 12 great grand children.
Out of town relatives here for the funeral were Mrs. Axel (Helene) Anderson of Montebello, Calif., Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Sossaman and five children, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Sossaman and three children of Muskego, Airman Ralph Sossaman of Pensacola, Fla., Mrs. Helene Debuhr, Mrs. Alma Kolander, Miss Alma Tessmer of Milwaukee, Mrs. Dora Tessmer of Spencer, Mr. and Mrs. Dealo Hecker of Fond du Lac, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Smith of Marshfield, Mr. and Mrs. Otto A. Eder of Rothschild, A. G. Koitsch of North Fond du Lac.
