Weix, Diane Rose (Marriage - 24 Aug. 1957)
Diann Rose Weix, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert A. Weix, and Arnold Miller were united in marriage Saturday, Aug. 24, 1957, at St. Mary’s Catholic church, Father John Pinion officiating at the services. Barbara Weix, sister of the bride, was maid of honor and Carol Leick served as bridesmaid. The groom was attended by David Weix as best man and Robert Leonard as groomsman. Judy Weix was flower girl and Andrew Rueth was ring bearer.
The bride was attired in a long torso gown of elegant imported hand clipped lace, beautiful back, cascade of lace ruffles flowing into chapel train, illusion yoke and tiny mandarin collar studded with seed pearls and iridescent sequins, long tapered sleeves, fingertip veil, crown top of seed pearls and iridescent sequins along the bottom of the veil. Her cascade bouquet consisted of red roses, white carnations and stephanotis.
Her attendants wore identically styled floor length gowns made of turquoise lace over taffeta, a cummerbund which crisscrossed in front and tied in back and hung the length of the skirt, cap sleeves. The round neckline came to a V in the back. Head bands were of turquoise lace ruffled in a band with flowers to match bouquets imbedded in bands. Their colonial bouquets consisted of white carnations and yellow mums.
A reception was held at the home of the bride which was decorated in streamers of turquoise, yellow and white. Dinner and supper were served in St. Mary’s gym.
The couple will make their home at Janesville where the groom is employed.
