Heck, Annafae (23 April 1920 - 5 November 2008)
AnnaFae Heck, 88, of Neillsville died peacefully in her sleep at her home Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2008.
She was born April 23, 1920, in Ryegate, MT, the daughter of Frederick Wesley and Mary (Boehm) Barr. AnnaFae moved to Greenwood at age four with her parents. She graduated from Greenwood High School in 1938. She worked for Lucille McConnell in Greenwood and then went to beauty school in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. AnnaFae owned and operated a beauty shop in Greenwood for two years. She married Ervin Heck May 13, 1943, in Kahoka, MO. After marriage she and Erv farmed in the Town of Weston for 45 years. They celebrated their 50th anniversary in 1993. AnnaFae moved to Neillsville in 1985.
She was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Neillsville and its Ladies Aid and a 60-year member of the Weston Homemakers Club. AnnaFae enjoyed gardening, flowers, spending time with her children and grandchildren and going out to eat.
She is survived by her children, Terry (Rita Hannon) Heck and Ben (Jan) Heck, all of Greenwood; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Erv. Oct. 8, 1999; four brothers: Tom, David, Freddie and Jake; and two sisters, Frances Marg and Edna Paulson.
Funeral services were held Friday, Nov. 7, 2008, at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Neillsville, with Rev. Timothy Biebert officiating. Burial was at the Greenwood City Cemetery.
Buchanan Funeral Home, Neillsville, assisted the family with arrangements.
