Miss Marjorie Lee Kirk became the bride of Marvin D. Garbisch in a ceremony performed by the pastor, the Rev. Arthur Oswald, in the Zion Lutheran Church, on Saturday, June 10, 1950, at 3:30 p.m.
Her attendants were Miss Joyce Bartlett, Marathon City, as maid of honor, and Miss Bonny Rae Spry, as bridesmaid. Joyce Garbisch, sister of the groom, was flower girl and Noel Kirk, brother of the bride was ring bearer.
The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Kirk, wore a gown of sheer filmy marquisette, with lace bodice and full skirt with sweeping train, matching lace gauntlets, with a finger-tip veil trimmed with lace and a sweetheart bonnet tiara. Her bouquet consisted of a beautiful orchid nestled in a bed of white carnations fringed with lilies of the valley. This was further enhanced by a bow and streamers of white satin ribbon.
The bridesmaid and maid of honor wore nile green marquisette with high neck line, lace yokes trimmed with sequins. They wore picture hats of hair braid and ruffled lace with large matching bows in the back. They carried bouquets of yellow and lavender glads with lilies of the valley around the edge.
The groom, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Garbisch, had as his attendants his brother, Erlin Garbisch, and his cousin, Walter Helm. Ushers were Donald Helm and Eugene Trimberger.
Following the church service a dinner was served to relatives and close friends at the Community hall.
The bride is a graduate of Marathon High School, with one semester at the University of Wisconsin. The groom is a graduate of the Granton High School and is now employed at the Spry Elevator.
The young couple is now spending their honeymoon at a cottage in a resort town in Polk County. The orchid of her bouquet was used as a corsage for her travel suit. They will reside in Granton.

F. Bartlett, Marathon, Wis.
