Thieme, Bertha #4 (5 AUG 1880 - 3 APR 1948)
Funeral services were conducted this afternoon for Mrs. Fred Thieme, 67, who passed away Saturday morning at her home in Colby, Wis. Services were conducted at one-thirty o’clock from the Lulloff Funeral Home and from the Zion Lutheran Church at two o’clock. The Rev. Otto Hoffmann officiated and interment was made in the Green Grove Cemetery.
Mrs. Thieme was the former Bertha Koehler and was born in Germany, Aug. 5, 1880. In 1902 she was married to Fred Thieme in a ceremony performed in the Town of Green Grove (Clark Co., Wis.). Her death came to her following a long illness and as a relief from her suffering.
She had come to the United States with her parents when she was a youngster two years of age. After her marriage she and her husband had resided on a farm south of Curtiss until 1940, at which time they retired and established a residence in Colby, Wis.
Surviving her besides her husband are 24 grandchildren and 11 children, Alvin Thieme, Spencer; Mrs. Seymour (Esther) Gustafson, Unity; Mrs. Oliver (Rose) Stammer; Mrs. Elroy (Helen) Brehm, and Franklin, Adolph and Raymond Thieme, Colby; Harry and Arnold Thieme, Racine; and Mrs. Harold (Lorraine) Ott, Marshfield, and also two sisters, Mrs. Herman Jachimson, Sheboygan, and Mrs. Leslie McMullen, Janesville.
