Thede, Jeanette #3 (12 JUN 1948)

The First Evangelical and Reformed Church in Colby was the scene of the wedding on Saturday afternoon of Miss Jeanette Thede, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Thede, and Floyd Thorne, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Thorne of Owen (Clark Co., Wis.). The Rev. F. P. Puhlmann officiated at the ceremony. Mrs. Puhlmann provided organ music.

Attending the couple were Miss Alice Thede, cousin of the bride, as maid of honor; Miss Beverly Pyatt, cousin of the groom, as bridesmaid; Wilbur Thorne, brother of the groom, as best man; and Maven Thede, brother of the bride, as groomsman.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a suit of aqua with pink accessories, and a shoulder corsage of pink roses and lily of the valley. The maid of honor in a medium blue suit and the bridesmaid in a teal blue suit, each wore white accessories and shoulder corsages of white gardenias.

For the past year the bride had been employed at the Soo Café in Owen.

Albert Thede, younger brother of the bride, and Miss Nancy Thede, sister of the bride, served as ring bearer and as flower girl respectively.

The bride’s parents home was used for the reception and supper, which was served to about 50 relatives.

The young couple are now on a wedding trip to the northern part of the state and will be at home after June 21 on a farm north of Owen.
