Bitters, Hulda (4 Feb. 1859 - 17 July 1934)

Mrs. Charles Bitters, resident of this vicinity for the past 35 years, passed away at her home here July 17, after a 14 weeks’ illness. At the time of her death she was 75 years, six months and 13 days old.

Mrs. Bitters was born Hulda Zeimke in Sheboygan Falls, Feb. 4, 1859. She resided there until she was united in marriage to Charles Bitters, also of that place, July 11, 1881. To this union were born 12 children of whom seven preceded her in death.

Mrs. Bitters leaves to mourn her, her husband, Charles, and five children: Mrs. Carl Scheurmas of Curtiss, Mrs. Nick Selezner, of Chippewa Falls, Edgar of Iowa Falls, Iowa, and Ervin and Harvey, both of Abbotsford, and 45 grand children and two great grand children, besides a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 1 o’clock from the home and at 2 o’clock at the Lutheran church at Curtiss. Internment will be made at Dorchester, Wis.

The deceased was instructed and confirmed in the German Lutheran church and has always been active in the welfare of the church until her later years when health failed her. She was always a kind and loving wife, mother, and friend. All who came in contact with her felt her generosity and were strengthened by it. She is now enjoying her reward so justly deserved.
