Weix, Mathilda (23 Mar. 1874 - 16 Sept. 1957)

Mrs. John Weix, who had been in poor health the past several years, died Monday at 4:00 A.M. at her home in Colby, Wisconsin at the age of 83 years. Funeral services are being held this Thursday morning at 9:30 A.M. at St. Mary’s Catholic church, Rev. John B. Pinion officiating, and burial well be made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery.

Mrs. Weix, nee Mathilda Yahna, was born on March 23, 1874, at Waterton where she married John Weix on November 14, 1900. They farmed in the town of Hull, Marathon county, for 43 years after which they retired and moved to the city of Colby, Wis.

Survivors are her widower; one son, Marzell Weix of Dorchester; one daughter, Mrs. John (Delephine) Gries of Colby; a grand daughter, Mrs. Lester Miller of Abbotsford, and a great great son, Russell Miller. Eight brothers and sisters preceded her in death.

Mrs. Weix was well known for her friendly and kindly disposition and fine Christian character. Her many friends will always remember her for those splendid qualities.

Funeral services for Mrs. John Weix, were held last Thursday morning at St. Mary’s Catholic church, Rev. John B. Pinion officiating, and internment was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery. Pall bearers were Emil Weix, Frank Weix, I. M. Firnstahl, Clarence Seibel and Chas. Howard.
