On Sunday, July 3, 1938, about ninety
relatives and friends gathered at the home of Mr. and Mrs. E.A. Elmer in this
city (Greenwood, Clark Co., Wis.) to remind them that fifty years has passed
since they had wed.
Mr. and Mrs. Elmer were marriage at Columbus on July
3, 188. They came to Greenwood nearly 40 years ago and have resided here ever
since. To this union were born ten children, Ervin of Greenwood; Walter of
Milwaukee; Mrs. Ed Finkel of Greenwood; Ernest of Greenwood; George of
Neillsville; Mrs. A. Kasum of Milwaukee; Mrs. Emery Gesme of Madison; Fred of
Marshfield; Mrs. H. Brunn and Mrs. Albert Hall of Milwaukee. All were able to
attend this golden anniversary, as were 22 of their 32 grandchildren.
Out
of town guests who were present were Mr. and Mrs. Albert hall and two children,
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Brunn, Mr. and Mrs. L. Rafenstein, Mr. and Mrs. Alter Elmer
and three children, Mrs. Anton Kasum and two children of Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs.
Emory Gesme and daughter of Madison, Mrs. Charles Gray of Tomah, Mrs. James
Murdock of Warrens, Fred Elmer an four daughters of Marshfield, Mr. and Mrs.
Geo. Elmer and two children of Neillsville, Miss Ethel Finkel of Madison
College, Tenn., Mr. and Mrs. Harve Getman and Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Getman of
Hixton, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Getman and two daughters of La Crosse, and Helmar
Hembre.
The Gleaner joins with their many friends in extending
congratulations and best wishes for many more happy wedding anniversaries.
