Kauffman, Elva (31 Dec 1891-29 June 1966)
Mrs. Elva Kauffman, Loyal, died
at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 29, at Memorial Hospital, Neillsville, where she
had been a patient since June 6.
Services were conducted at 2 p.m.
Saturday, July 2, at the Loyal Methodist Church with the Rev. W. C. Koehler,
pastor of the United Church of Christ, Neillsville, officiating. Burial was made
in the Loyal Cemetery. The Myre Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. W/ C. Koehler, vocalist, sang “Beyond the Sunset” and “Some Day We Will
Understand.” She was accompanied at the organ by Mrs. ajessr Scott, Neillsville.
The Royal Neighbors attended the service in a body.
Pallbearers were H.
E. Catlin, Neil Johnson, Robert Prior, Roy Thomas, Roy Hales, and Chester Smith.
The former Elva Shupe was born December 31, 1891, at Loyal, and had resided
here since with the exception of a few years in her early married life. Her
marriage to Vernard Kauffman, who preceded her in death March 10, 1965, took
place March 24, 1920, at Loyal.
Mrs, Kauffman was a member of the
W.S.C.S. of the Loyal Methodist Church, the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter
264, the Past Matrons Club, the Royal Neighbors of America, and the American
Legion Auxiliary Post 175.
Survivors are two sons, CPO Donald Kauffman,
serving with the U. S. Navy in Japan, and Dale Kauffman, Loyal, a daughter, Mrs.
Erwin (Dorothy) Steiger, Neillsville; two brothers, Glen Shupe, Berlin; six
sisters, Mrs. Lawrence (Nettie) Davel and Mrs. Jesse (Vivian) Raab, Loyal, Mrs.
Hasting (Ione) Baird, Greenwood; Mrs. Jack (Helena) Fahey, Stanley; Mrs. Charles
(Mabel) Barr, Neillsville, and Mrs. Willard (Elsie) Ziemendorf, Wisconsin
Rapids; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother
and grandchildren
