Erickson, Mildred Jane (Marriage - 1 July 1950)
Miss Mildred Jane Erickson of Madison, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Erickson of Neillsville, and Jack True, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur True of Minneapolis, repeated their nuptial vows before the Rev. Virgil Nulton in a double-ring ceremony preformed Saturday afternoon at 3 o’clock in the pleasant Ridge Methodist Church. The altar was banked with baskets of peonies.
The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore an entrained gown of ivory satin, designed with a snug fitting bodice and long sleeves coming to points at the wrists. A lace-edged finger tip veil fell from a tiara of orange blossoms, and a bridal bouquet of pink rose buds and white sweet peas completed her ensemble.
Serving her sister as matron-of-honor was Mrs. Carl Eisentraut, who was attired in a white net dress over pastel green.
Mrs. Ray Retzloff of Madison, who was bridesmaid, was dressed in a pink net gown. The attendants wore headdresses of carnations and sweet peas, and carried bouquets composed of the same.
William Beeckler of Granton and Wallace Erickson acted as groomsmen. James Erickson and Clarence Scharf were ushers.
Following the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents for 90 guests. The house was decorated with white, green and pink streamers, with a large white wedding bell. A huge wedding cake, baked by the matron-of-honor, decorated the bride’s table.
After a honeymoon at Yellowstone Park the young couple will be at home in Madison.
The bride is a graduate of Granton High School and is employed in an office in Madison.
The groom also graduated from Granton High School. He spent three years in the navy and is now employed by the Sub-Zero Freezer plant in Madison.
Guests from out of town attending the wedding were from Eau Claire, Madison, Milwaukee, Stevens Point, Minneapolis and Wyoming, Minn. (See news notes below)
