Suckow, Rudolph David (23 January 1870 - 17 July 1950)

Rudolph Suckow, 80, died at his farm home in the Town of Grant on Monday morning after an illness of two weeks. Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday at 2 o’clock at the Georgas Funeral Home. Mrs. Harley Seif was the reader.

Mr. Suckow was born in Germany on January 23, 1870, to Christ and Caroline Kronfout Suckow. When he was 11 years old he came to this country with his parents and they located at Oconomowoc, Wis. He received his education in Germany and Wisconsin. He did carpenter work during the time he lived at home.

On January 21, 1897, he married Halana Miller at Alexander, Minn. They resided in Minnesota for several years before moving to Clark County. He farmed in Clark County for 45 years. He was chairman of the Town of Weston for two terms. Mr. Suckow was a member of the Christian Science Church.

Mr. Suckow is survived by his wife and four children: Roy Suckow, Town of Grant; Mrs. Victor (Villetta) Smith of Highland, Ind.; Francis Suckow, Greenwood; Vernie Suckow, at home; five grandchildren and one brother, Theodore Suckow of Sparta.

Two brothers and one sister preceded him in death.
