Counsell, Kenneth W. (5 January 1904 - 23 July 1950)

Funeral services were held on Tuesday at 2 o’clock at Wisconsin Dells for Kenneth Counsell who died at St. Mary’s Hospital at Baraboo on Sunday.

Mr. Counsell was born at Neillsville on January 5, 1904, to Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Counsell. He moved with his family to Marshfield when he was attending high school and was graduated from there. He attended Oshkosh Normal and was graduated from there in 1922.

In the fall of 1922 he was married to Priscilla Owen of Marshfield.

He taught school at Winneconne for three years then moved to Muskegon Heights, Mich., where he taught for three years. On coming back to Wisconsin Dells where he was an instructor in manual arts and athletic coach in high school for 17 years. Two years were spent on the faculty of Edgerton High School.

Due to his health failing him he left the teaching profession and purchased Parsons Trading Post. On January 6 he suffered a stroke and heart attack and was confined to the hospital for a few weeks. He retuned to the hospital in April where he has been since.

He is survived by his wife and three children: Duane of Wisconsin Dells; Mrs. Glenn (Beverly) Baumann of Baraboo; and Donald at home; a sister, Mrs. Roy Stanley and a brother, John Counsell, both of Neillsville and a brother who lives in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

His mother, father and a brother preceded him in death.

Those from Neillsville attending the rites were: Mr. and Mrs. John Counsell and family, Mrs. Florence Counsell, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Stanley, Mrs. Tomas Jacob, and Mr. and Mrs. Dave (unreadable).
