Several of our folks have been going for “flu” shots. Among them
were Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Matti.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Fees visited her
daughter and family near August Sunday afternoon.
Mr. and Mrs. Ray Tesmer
of Neillsville and Mrs. Elgie Hardwick left Friday evening for a weekend in
northern Wisconsin, and came home late Sunday evening.
Mrs. Millie
Trachsel came home Monday night after a week’s visit with her son, Dick, and
family in Rochester, Minn. She also visited at the Jim Senske home in new Ulm,
Minn.
A group of 12 Fairview Homemakers went Wednesday to New Richmond,
where they visit the Arbor Hill Tree Farm and saw the many different articles
made from pine cones. Did they bring ideas home? Oh yes!
Mrs. Norman
Nibbe and son, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Nibbe and Russell of Hobart, Ind., spent the
weekend at the Cullen Dignin home. They left Sunday to visit relatives in Red
Wing, Minn.
Mr. and Mrs. Will Theiler and Mrs. Emma Gerber were guest
Sunday of Mrs. Lena Tubbs in Eau Claire and on the way home spent the evening at
the Will Theiler, Jr., home in rural Osseo. Mrs. Roy Easterson of Eau Claire
also was an afternoon visitor of Mrs. Tubbs.
Mr. and Mrs. Ben Clouse of
Loyal were dinner and afternoon guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Laffe. Mrs.
Clouse expected to enter a Marshfield hospital Wednesday for surgery.
Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Matti spent Friday with Mr. and Mrs. Earl Pierce in
Neillsville.
Mrs. Maude Newton, Mrs. Raymond Stuve and Nordahl Fristad
attended the fall district convention of the Odd Fellows and Rebekahs in Eau
Claire Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. Levi Fitzmaurice called Wednesday evening
at the Ed Tande home in West Garden Valley.
Mr. and Mrs. Al Raymond were
happy last week to have his two sisters from Minneapolis visit them. Mr. Raymond
is an invalid and welcomes visitors.
Mrs. Perle Pickett spent several
days last week at the home of her son, Kenneth Burnett, in Hixton.
Mr and
Mrs. Archie Kirby called Saturday evening at the home of their daughter, Mrs.
Margaret Walker, in rural Fairchild.
Mrs. Leo Janke, Mrs. Jake Lightfoot
and Mrs. Mel Walker were Neillsville visitors Monday morning.
Mr and Mrs.
George Wright and children of Tomah were dinner and afternoon guests Sunday at
the Hugh Terrell home.
Lloyd Plunkett is a patient at the Black River
Falls hospital.
Clarence Potter, who has been living in the Elsie Jahn
home, has gone to the Veterans’ hospital in Tomah and later will be transferred
to Wood. Jess Hanson will go to a home in Neillsville.
Mrs. Edwin
Zimmerman called at the Elsie John home Monday to see Mrs. Lillie Zimmerman.
