Lorentson, Helen #2 (26 JUN 1948)
After Sept. 1, Mr. and Mrs. John Erickson will be at home to their friends at 1112 Sixth St., Brookings, S.D. The couple is now enjoying a honeymoon trip through northern Wisconsin’s beautiful lake region.
They were united in marriage at high noon, Saturday, June 26, 1948, in a lovely wedding ceremony solemnized in the Zion Lutheran Church at Baldwin, Wis. The Rev. H. P. Nordby of Baldwin read the wedding ceremony.
The bride is Helen M. Lorentson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lorents Lorentson of Woodville, Wis., while the groom, John M. Erickson is the son of Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Erickson of Curtiss (Clark Co., Wis.).
Miss Lorentson wore a colonial styled white satin bridal gown with long fitted sleeves pointed over hand with a sweetheart neckline. Her fingertip veil with Alencon lace edge extended from a headdress of orange blossoms. Completing her bridal attire was a stand of pearls as a gift from the groom and she carried a bridal bouquet of Johanna Hill ivory roses, lilies and baby breath. Attending her were her sister, Jessie L. Lorentson, as maid of honor, and bridesmaid, Mrs. J. W. Jorgenson, also a sister of Minneapolis, Mrs. Homer Wardwell, a sister of the groom, and Mrs. Harry Laabs, a close friend. All wore matching gowns of blue dotted marquisette over taffeta, colonial styled with puffed sleeves and matching mitts. They carried colonial bouquets of ivory gladiolas and white daisies.
Roy Ostenson of Chippewa Falls was best man, while Norman Erickson, Homer Wardwell and Warren Jorgenson served as ushers.
A one o’clock dinner was served to over 100 guests in the church parlors which were decorated appropriately with summer garden flowers.
Among those from away that attended the ceremony were Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Erickson, Mr. and Mrs. Cornell Erickson and daughter Carol and son Norman, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Bakke, Mr. and Mrs. Marcus Hermanson, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Laabs, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Geary, and Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Nenzel, all of Curtiss; Mr. and Mrs. Homer Wardwell and Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Vehglan of La Cross, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. Olaf Engh and Mr. and Mrs. Emil Erickson of Westby, and Mr. and Mrs. Warren Jorgenson and Jessie Lorentson of Minneapolis.
