Wiltjer, Lucille #2 (14 AUG 1948)
Miss Lucille Wiltjer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Wiltjer, Abbotsford, became the bride of Eugene L. Steinke, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Steinke, Curtiss (Clark Co., Wis.), Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Evangelical Lutheran Church at Curtiss. The Rev. Gilbert Borreson officiated at the ceremony.
Attending the bride were her sister, Miss Jeanette Wiltjer and Mrs. James Rachau, Highland Park, Ill., and Mrs. Earl Sheppard, Abbotsford, Wis. The groom’s attendants were his brother, Oakley, and John Sheets, Curtiss, William Wiltjer, brother of the bride, and Dale Steinke of Colby, cousin of the groom, were ushers.
The bride wore a gown of brocaded satin fashioned in princes style with elbow length sleeves and a shirred bodice. Her fingertip veil was edged with lace and caught to a heart shaped tiara of seed pearls and silver beads. She carried a heart shaped bouquet of white and red roses. The bridesmaids were gowned identically in princess styled chiffon. They carried colonial bouquets of red roses and white carnations. Miss Wiltjer and Mrs. Sheppard both wore blue. Mrs. Rachau was in fuchsia.
A reception and dinner followed at the home of the bride’s parents with 125 attending.
Following a wedding trip to Chicago and Highland Park, Ill., the couple will make their home in Abbotsford, Wis.
The bride is employed at Danielson Cleaning Plant at Abbotsford and the groom is an employee of the Laabs Cheese Co., at Curtiss.
