Morehead,
Doris E. (22 DEC 1899 - 4 MAR 1930)
Doris Evelyn Warner Morehead, born to
Henry and Louise Warner, Dec. 22, 1899, passed to her reward March 4, 1930.
Having been born on the farm of Hiram Varney, her grandfather, Doris lived
with her parents at Hemlock of Greenwood (Clark Co.), Wis. During her childhood
and girlhood, attending both the country and city schools. She left Greenwood in
Jan. 1918, and did tutoring work in Wyoming until her marriage on Oct. 15, 1919
to Samuel A. Morehead of Lincoln, Nebraska. Her husband was stationed at the
army post at Cheyenne, where they remained until April 1921, when they moved to
San Francisco, Calif., where Mr. Morehead was employed in the upholstery
business.
Three children were born to their home, Stanley Atwood at
Cheyenne on July 18, 1920, Evelyn Louis on Feb. 24, 1922, and Samuel Elwood on
Jan. 26, 1924, at San Francisco.
In July 1927 they returned to Cheyenne,
Wyoming, hoping that the health of both Mr. and Mrs. Morehead might be improved
by the change in climate. Doris gradually failed in health and nothing that the
doctors might do seemed to affect her favorably. In August 1929 her tonsils were
removed, but she did not yet recover from the anemic condition. Again trying a
change of climate and environment, she went to Deeth, Nevada, on Nov. 16, 1929,
where she stayed with her mother until the first of December, when she was
brought to Sacramento and stayed with her sister, Mrs. Raymond Pederson. There
she continued under the doctor's care until her death on March 4, 1930. Her
husband was also with her during the last week.
Although everything known
to science to relieve or cure dropsy, was don, the last two weeks of her stay
were once of much suffering. All efforts to spare her live were of no avail.

Does anyone know what role a Peter Christopherson (sp?) had at Thorp Finance? Also, in which years was he a part of Thorp Finance?
