Merrill, Louisa C. (20 Jan. 1854 - 13 Sept. 1934)

Louisa C. Birkenmeyer was born in Magnolia, Ohio, January 20, 1854. When a small child her parents moved to Wisconsin locating at Stockbridge. In 1884 she was married to Dr. John M. Merrill of that village. She moved to Abbotsford in 1913 and has made her home here since that time. She passed away at St. Joseph’s hospital, Chippewa Falls, Thursday, September 13, after an illness of six weeks.

She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. H. J. Nabbefeld, Chippewa Falls; Blanche Merrill, Minneapolis; and Jessie Merrill, Abbotsford; a sister, Mrs. Josephine Nelson, Milwaukee, and a brother, C. W. Birkenmeyer, Tomah.

Funeral services for Mrs. Louisa Merrill were held at the Presbyterian church Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock, the Rev. L. C. Smith having charge of the services. Music was furnished by the Abbotsford choir and Mrs. George Lange of Stanley.

Anderson, Mrs. Albert Dillon and the Misses Jessie Melville and Dora Handry, Chippewa Falls; Mr. and Mrs. E. C. ?, Mrs. T. E. Ketcham, Mrs. A. F. Steitzner, Mrs. A. P. Roberts and the Misses Gertrude Coleman, Mary O’Loughlin, Clara Horn, Muriel Sta?, Katherine Brady, Etta Wilson, Maude Emmes and Gertrude Falconer, Minneapolis; Mr. and Mrs. L. J. Horn and Mr. and Mrs. Alex Murphy, Dalton and Mrs. George Lang, Stanley.
