Schertler, Agnes (19Apr. 1855 - 22 Sept. 1934)

Mrs. Agnes Weber Schertler, age 79, passed away at her home in Abbotsford Saturday, September 22 at 6:30 A.M. following an illness of five days. Death was caused by a stroke. Funeral services were held from the St. Bernard’s Catholic church, Monday morning at 9 o’clock, the Rev. Fr. Novak, officiating. Internment was made in the Abbotsford cemetery. Acting pallbearers were B. Van Roy, Edward Feala, Joseph Elfert, William Nagel, Frank Wiese and Joseph Beil.

The deceased was born April 19, 1855 in Bohemia. She was united in marriage to Joseph Weber in Bohemia in 1874. To this union four children were born, two daughters, Mrs. Anna R. Hall of Minneapolis and Mrs. Mary Hoffman of Murdock, Kansas, and two sons, Frank L. Weber of Dorchester and Joseph C. Weber of Greenwood.

The family came to America in 1886 and settled on a farm six miles north east of Medford.

Joseph Weber died in 1889 and six years later the widow was married to Louis Schertler of Dorchester, Wis. To this union one daughter was born, Mrs. Rose Beil of Westboro.

In 1914 the family moved to Abbotsford from Dorchester and have since resided here.
