Arndt, Joyce (9 OCT 1948)
The German Lutheran Church at Withee (Clark Co., Wis.) was the scene of the marriage of Miss Joyce Arndt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Arndt, Owen, to Robert Mengel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Mengel, Colby, Wis. The Rev. Walter Schedler officiated at the Oct. 9, 1948 ceremony.
Miss Veida Mae Arndt, sister of the bride; Miss Yvonne Mengel, sister of the groom; Gilbert Arndt, Withee, cousin of the bride; and Leo E. Plantico, Withee, cousin of the bride, were attendants.
A white taffeta gown was worn by the bride. The shirred bodice was styled with a bustle back and puffed sleeves. Her lace-edged fingertip veil fell from a tiara of seed pearls. She carried a bouquet of red roses.
The maid of honor’s gown was pink taffeta, while the bridesmaids wore light green taffeta. They carried roses which matched their gowns.
Guests numbering 50 were served dinner at the home of the bride’s parents. A wedding dance followed at Clark Hall, Withee.
The couple will live in Owen, where the groom is employed by the Barton Contracting Co.
