Straughan, Marcia C. (22 OCT 1948)
Alliance Church, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), was the scene of the wedding Oct. 22, 1948 of Miss Marcia C. Straughan and Warren W. Worden. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ira L. Straughan, Owen, and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Worden, Greenwood. The Rev. C. S. Matthews officiated at the double ring, candlelight service.
Escorted by her father, the bride was gowned in white silk gabardine, trimmed in lace. Her fingertip veil of lace net fell from a heart-shaped crown and she carried a colonial bouquet of pink and white carnations, centered with roses.
Mrs. Patricia Vogel, sister of the bride, was her attendant in a pink spun rayon suit. Pink, white and yellow carnations formed her corsage.
Gordon Worden, Greenwood, was best man for his cousin. Ushers were Robert Worden, brother of the groom, and Walter Vogel, brother-in-law of the bride.
A 9:30 p.m. reception was held for 300 at Owen Community Hall.
Following a Wisconsin, Minnesota and Iowa, wedding trip, the couple will live on a farm north of Greenwood.
Guests from out of town were Mrs. O. N. Sweeney and Mrs. H. H. Straughan, Lebanon, Ind.; and Mr. and Mrs. Otmer Schuette and Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Sinclair, La Crosse.
