Wilke, Hilda (24 NOV 1948)

Rev. Gregory Reuter performed the nuptial ceremony on Wednesday morning, Nov. 24, 1948, in which Miss Hilda C. Wilke, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Max Wilke of Dorchester (Clark Co., Wis.), became the bride of Louis R. Boxrucker, Wausau, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Boxrucker of Dorchester, Wis. The 8:00 ceremony was performed at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford.

After the church service a wedding breakfast was served to the bridal party at the John Boxrucker home. A noon dinner was served there also to 100 guests, and supper was enjoyed at the Wilke home at 4:30. A wedding dance was given at the Dorchester Recreation Hall.

The bride was wearing an ivory satin gown designed with a yoke of lace and a full entrained skirt which had a ruffle cascade on either side. Her fingertip veil of illusion was attached to a crown of ivory, lace trimmed with pearls. She carried a shower bouquet of red roses with trailing clusters of white chrysanthemums, and wore a yellow gold heart-shaped locket with matching earrings, a gift from the groom.

The bride’s sister, Mrs. James Beck, was matron of honor and bridesmaids were Mrs. Roy Langteau of Colby, the groom’s sister, and Miss Esther Ackerman of Medford. They wore formals of aqua and pink taffeta styled with hooped skirts, and had matching bonnets of net. Their bouquets contained yellow chrysanthemums and white and pink carnations. The bride presented each attendant with a string of pearls, which they wore at the wedding.

Attending the groom were James Beck of Stevens Point, Roy Langteau, Colby, and Lee Bix, Medford.

The young couple will make their home at Wauau, where the groom is employed as a welder at the Wausau Iron Works. The bride has been employed at the Medford Laundry previous to her marriage.
