Smith, Loretta #3 (11 DEC 1948)
Miss Loretta Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert E. Smith, Curtiss (Clark Co., Wis.), became the bride Saturday, Deb. 11, 1948, of Arlun D. Harris, son of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Harris, Waupaca. The Rev. Franz Paul Puhlmann read the 2 p.m. service at the parsonage of the Evangelical and Reformed Church, Colby, Wis.
Attending the couple were Mr. and Mrs. Harold House, Curtiss. Mr. House is a cousin of the groom.
A royal blue crepe dress, trimmed with silver sequins, was worn by the bride. Red roses and white carnations made up her corsage. Mrs. House’s dress was royal blue crepe, detailed with bead work. Her corsage was of red roses and white carnations.
A reception and supper were held at the home of the bride’s parents and a dance at the Curtiss Village Hall.
Mrs. Harris was graduated from the Owen High School. Mr. Harris attended school at Curtiss and served in the Navy for three and one-half years. He is now employed as a truck driver and his wife is employed at the Curtiss State Bank. The newlyweds will make their home in Curtiss.
Guests from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Sam Harris and son, Loryn, Waupaca, and Mr. and Mrs. Glen Laabs, Concordia, Mo. Many guests from neighboring towns attended.
