Greenwood (22 October 1970)

The Birthday club was entertained Monday evening by Mrs. Helen Behrens with a 6:30 dinner at the café, followed by cards at the Don Warner home. Prizes were awarded to Mrs. Catherine Lindner, Mrs. Glen Drew, Mrs. Lawrence Cox and Mrs. Lee Corey.

Mrs. Maude Huntzicker fractured her hip in a fall at her home Wednesday afternoon and was taken by ambulance to a hospital in Eau Claire.

Mrs. Dennis McCarty of Park Forest, Ill., spent from Wednesday until Sunday at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Plunkett. On Saturday Joe Plunkett of Minneapolis and Timothy Plunkett of La Crosse visited their parents.

Floyd Clintsman is a surgical patient at Memorial Hospital in Neillsville since October 8.

Dr. and Mrs. Robert Van Keuren and sons, Jeffrey and James, of Wooster, O., and Mr. and Mrs. Everett Humke and daughters, Christie and Shelley, of Rochester, Minn., spent the weekend with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Stewart. The Van Keuren family also attended the Golden wedding anniversary celebration of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Van Keuren, in Glenwood City.

Mrs. Charles Hare has been dismissed from the hospital in Marshfield.

Mrs. Hazel Helwig and Mrs. Helen Behrens visited recently in Eau Claire at the home of the latter’s granddaughter, Mrs. William Jaeger, and family.

Our Savior’s Lutheran Church is sponsoring a Lutefisk and Swedish meatball supper to be held in the church dining hall October 28. Serving will begin at 4:30 p.m. Mrs. Aage Nielson is the chairman.

Mrs. Effie Swieso moved Saturday into the Meinhardt apartments on east Division Street. Weekend guests were her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. William Pfeifer of Milwaukee. They all attended the silver anniversary celebration of Mrs. Swieso’s son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Thiede, in Marshfield Saturday.

The Intersee club was entertained Wednesday evening at the home of Mrs. Carl Stabnow.

Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Braun and Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Horn attended the 40th wedding anniversary celebration of Mr. and Mrs. Pirl Burrington in Thorp.
