Kath, Bertha M. (4 June
1891 - 25 October 1970)
Funeral services for Bertha M. Kath, 79, formerly
of Rt. 1 Loyal, who died October 25 in Neillsville, were held Wednesday at 2
p.m. from St. Luke’s Lutheran Church at South Green Grove. The Rev. Arthur Rasch
officiated and burial was in St. Luke’s Lutheran Cemetery.
Mrs. Kath, the
former Bertha Krabbenhofft, was born June 4, 1891, in Hubbard, Iowa. She was
educated there and resided with her parents until her marriage to Otto Kath on
February 13, 1917. The Kaths farmed in the Hubbard area until 1922 when they
moved to a farm in the township of Beaver where Mr. Kath lived before moving to
Green Vista homes in Abbotsford two years ago. She was a resident of Memorial
Home in Neillsville for the past two months. Mrs. Kath was a member of St.
Luke’s Lutheran Church.
Survivors include two sons, Otis of Loyal and
Walda of Spencer, and five daughters, Mrs. Herbert (Esther) Quast, Windsor,
Ill.; Mrs. Olin (Caroline) Sornson, McFarland; Mrs. Arvin (Gladys) Kramer,
Abbotsford; Mrs. Fred (Loraine) Schlitz, Marshfield; and Mrs. Vernon (June)
Lielke, Grand Forks, N. D. She is further survived by 21 grandchildren and 2
great grandchildren.
