HASLEAU CHILD SCALDED

The little son of Louisa Hasleau was badly scalded, last Wednesday, by falling backward into a pail of hot water.

The mother was making preparation to mop the floor, had set the pail of water down and stepped out doors for an instant when the little fellow, who was playing about, ran backwards against the pail, stumbled and fell into it.

If the water had been as hot as is generally used for that purpose the child would have been scaled to death, and was badly burned as it was.

NETTER FAMILY

The Netter Family of Medford, gave an entertainment at Colby Hall, last night, that, in some respects was superior to entertainments of that class.

The jubilee singing by the Netter family was excellent.

The banjo playing of Mr. Pickett was good but when he commenced to sing it knocked the whole business.

I.O.O.F. LODGE

The members of the Colby Lodge, 234, I.O.O.F., are taking into consideration the matter of getting up a series of entertainments consisting of lectures, select reading, for the winter, and will the lodges on the line to cooperate with them. The idea is a good one.
