Rowley, Dolores (25 DEC 1935 - 23 NOV 2008)

Dolores "Dee" Rowley, 72, Loyal, died in the Clark County Health Care Center, Owen, on Sunday, Nov. 23, 2008. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 26, from 10 a.m., until the time of services at 11 a.m., at the Loyal Methodist Church. The Rev. Mike Herdt will officiate. Inurnment will follow in the Loyal Cemetery.

Dolores Kowatz was born on Dec. 25, 1935, in Evanston, Ill., to Harry and Ada (nee Peterson) Kowatz. She was raised and received her education in Evanston, graduating from high school in 1953. She was united in marriage to Daryl E. Rowley on Jan. 8, 1954, in Evanston. They moved to Loyal, where they farmed and raised their family. Besides helping on the farm, she held several jobs, including driving school bus for the Loyal School District, waitressing at the K Corners Supper Club, working at Miller’s Bakery in Loyal, and working for the TRG for many years. In 1990, they moved into Loyal. Her husband, Daryl, died on May 22, 1006. She was a very active member of the Loyal United Methodist Church, a member of the Loyal American Legion Auxiliary, where she served as the district treasurer for many years, and was the Beaver Center 4-H Club leader for many years. She had many interests, but especially enjoyed volunteering for many different causes, fundraising for the American Cancer Society, working at the Loyal American Legion steak feeds, loved helping people, bowling, traveling, and casinos, casinos, casinos.

She will be deeply missed by her children, Kathy Pieper (Arlyn) Kollmansberger, Spencer, Julie (Dean) Milz, Loyal, JoAnn (Mike) Farnsworth, Newcastle, Wyo., Ron Rowley, Billings, Mont., Donnie (Brenda) Rowley, Loyal, Nancy Rowley (John Sheehan) Durango, Colo., and Dan Rowley, Loyal; 11 grandchildren, Penny, Angie, and Mandy Pieper, Bob, Tom and Melissa Milz, Doug (Jenette) and Damon Alexander, McKenzie, Deveni, and Dylan Rowley; four great-grandchildren, Tiffini, Pieper, Jordon, Riley, and Bradley Alexander; three sisters, Marilyn (Robert) O’Laughlin, Glenview, Ill., Karalee Kowatz, Michigan, and Barb Kowatz, Phoenix, Ariz.; and a sister-in-law, Kim Kowatz, Pineville, La.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Daryl; and one brother, Harry "Buddy" Kowatz.
