Mrs. Joy D.
Kubishak, Minneapolis, became the bride of Robert M. ness, Thorp (Clark Co.,
Wis.) on Saturday, Jan. 15, 1966 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, Stanley. Rev.
Peters performed the double ring ceremony.
Parents of the couple are Mrs.
A. Struyk, Hollandale, Minn., and Mr. and Mrs. Chris Ness of Thorp.
The
bride wore a winter white double breasted suit with three quarter length
sleeves. Winter white wrist length gloves, bronze shoes and a velvet turquoise
hat completed her ensemble. She wore a corsage of red roses.
Mrs.
Glendora Baker, sister of the groom, was matron of honor, and Mr. Andrew Baker,
brother-in-law of the groom, was best man.
Ushers were Jerry Penk and
Irving Syryczuk of Thorp.
A reception for 75 guests was held at the
church following the ceremony. A reception was also held on Jan. 16th at the
home of Dennis Schroeder, Minneapolis, with Mrs. Schroeder and Mrs. Charles
Burkes as hostesses. Sandra Lenox and Linda Baker were in charge of gifts. Mrs.
Valeria Obrycki and Ann Obrycki took care of the cake, Mrs. Eugene Rosemeyer
poured. Mrs. Richard Thompson was in charge of the guest book. Mrs. Roger
Samplawski of Stanley baked and decorated the wedding cake.
The bride is
a graduate of Albert Lea Senior High School. The groom is a graduate of Gilman
High School and is engaged in dairy farming on Route 2, Thorp, where the couple
will make their home after a wedding trip to southern Minnesota to the home of
the bride's mother and grandfather, Carl Burke Sr.
