Pietrzak, Frank #2 (18 AUG 1908 - 25 JAN 1947)
Frank Pietrzak of the Town of Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), father of 7 children, and six other persons were injured early Saturday in an automobile collision on U. S. Highway 14, four miles north of Harvard, Ill.
Pietrzak was a passenger in a car driven by his brother-in-law, Harry Mateski, 26, of 4032 S. Harlem Ave., Stickney, Ill. Also in the car were a sister and brother of Mateski. They are Lorraine, 18, of Stanley and Stanley of Stickney. All were injured, the girl seriously.
The other car was driven by William Fedors, 33, of Chicago. With him were his wife, Frances, 33, and his brother, Peter, 20, of Sheldon. They also were injured.
State Police said that Mateski’s car skidded on frosty pavement and went off on the right shoulder. In getting back on the pavement, the car skidded again and sung broadside into the path of Fedor’s car.
The injured were taken to the Harvard Community Hospital.
Funeral services for Frank Pietrzak will be held this morning (Thursday) at ten o’clock at St. Hedwig’s Church. An obituary will be published next week.
