Hanson, Tommy (22 APR 1942 - 24 APR 1947)
Little Tommy Hanson, five year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Hanson of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), passed away at the Wis. General Hospital at Madison on Thursday, April 24th, 1947. Death was caused by a brain tumor and an operation performed months ago gave relief until last week when he was returned to the hospital. Tommy was five years old on April 22, 1947.
The funeral was held Sunday at the Thorp Funeral Home, at 2:00 p.m., Rev. R. E. Ortmeyer, pastor of the Episcopal Church of Chippewa Falls conducted the services and spoke in words of tenderest sympathy and comfort of deepest Christian hope and promise. Miss Colleen Biddle sang with peculiar beauty and sweetness, several appropriate selections. Many of the relatives of the sorrowing family were present, and as they looked upon the casket and surrounded by beautiful and fragrant flowers yet not more beautiful or pure than the little face within their hearts swelled in sympathy for the bereaved family.
Death is a hard master. He would take from us our brightest and best, but he cannot mar the memory. It will serve as a balm to our wounded hearts.
The little form was laid to rest in the family lot in the Black River Cemetery.
