Mrs. and Mrs. John Boxrucker of rural Abbotsford
celebrated their golden wedding anniversary June 1, at a high mass at St. Louis’
Catholic church, Dorchester, with the Rev. Gerald Schuh officiating.
Mr. Boxrucker and the former Mary Pueschner were married
by a mission priest in St. Louis’ Catholic church June 1, 1915.
They are both members of that parish.
They operated a farm in the town of Little Black and in
1950 retired to a smaller farm in the town of Mayville.
He has served as janitor at the Pleasant Hill school the past 14 years.
The Boxruckers have three children, Mrs. Roy (Helen)
Langteau, Colby, Louis Boxrucker, on the home place, and Arthur Boxrucker, in
service at Chesapeake, Va. Another
son, Lawrence, was killed while in service on Pearl Harbor Day, Dec. 7, 1941.
There are 12 grand children.
On Sunday, preceding the event, the children joined them
for an anniversary dinner and on Tuesday evening neighbors and friends surprised
them in honor of the occasion.
