Two young people of route 1, Unity, were united in
marriage Saturday, June 5, Miss Elaine Evelyn Schultz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Clarence G. Schultz, and Raymond Michael Degenhardt, whose parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Henry Degenhardt, are both deceased, repeated their marriage vows in Zion
Lutheran church at Colby with the Rev. Harold Woodworth officiating.
The bride, who was presented in marriage by her father
for the one o’clock ceremony, appeared in a floor-length gown of nylon tulle and
Alencon lace. The fitted bodice
featured a scalloped neckline with borealis bead trim.
The bouffant nylon tulle skirt was detailed with lace inserts with
borealis beads. Her bouffant veil of
imported illusion net with rolled edge was held in place with a queen’s crown of
seed pearls. She carried an
arrangement of red roses and white gardenias centered with a large white orchid
and rosebud streamers.
Attending her as maid of honor was Miss Dorothy Schultz,
route 1 Unity. Mrs. Sylvester
(Arlene) Rizzi of Spencer and Mrs. Dennis (Marilyn) Bohman of Marshfield were
the bridesmaids.
The maid of honor wore a sheath dress with detachable
floor-length overskirt and blue and yellow ballerina style dresses were worn by
the bridesmaids. Their headpieces
and flowers matched their dresses.
David Freimund of Milan was the best man and Ronald
Schultz of Colby and Dennis Bohman, Marshfield, were the groomsmen.
Dennis Schultz of route 1, Unity and Michael Schultz of
Colby were the ushers.
Festivities following the church ceremony included a
reception at the Northside Bar at Colby and a dance at Sportsmen’s Park in the
evening.
After the new Mr. and Mrs. Degenhardt return from a
wedding trip in the state they will make their home at route 1, Unity.
The groom attended school at Loyal, and is employed at Spencer Sports
Products.
His bride is a 1965 graduate of the Colby high school.
Prior to their marriage they were honored at a shower
dance held at the Northside Bar on May 22.
Relatives and friends attending the wedding were from
Colby, Abbotsford, Milan, Unity, Chili, Dorchester, Marshfield, Loyal,
Greenwood, Spencer, Milwaukee, Wausau, Stratford and Alma Center.
