A double wedding fifty years ago was celebrated June 1 by
two sisters at different locations.
Miss Laura Neitzel and Otto Bublitz were one couple and
Myra Neitzel and Albert Kuehling were married at Dorchester June 1, 1915.
Mr. and Mrs. Bublitz farmed in the town of Hoard for 37
years and operated a motel at Owen before retirement in 1957.
Mr. Bublitz served for 27 years as supervisor for the town of Hoard and
for 32 years on the school board.
The couple has two married daughters, Mrs. Harold
(Lorraine) House of Abbotsford and Mrs. Fred (Marjorie) Panzenhagen of Vernon,
Conn., a son, Virgil Bublitz, of Owen.
There are eight grand children.
To celebrate the event, open house and buffet luncheon
were held at St. Paul’s Lutheran church, Curtiss, Sunday, May 30.
All of their children were present.
Mr. and Mrs. Kuehling, formerly of Curtiss and
Neillsville, celebrated their anniversary at Placerville, Calif.
