A very pretty wedding was solemnized at St. Hedwig’s Church at ten o’clock Saturday morning, May 3, 1947, when Miss Dawn Swim, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harley Swim Sr. of the Town of Taft, became the bride of Mr. Joseph Adam Waichulis of the Town of Withee (Clark Co., Wis.).

The bride was beautifully attired in a gown of white satin and marquisette with a veil and train to match. She wore a gold locket, a gift of the groom. Her bridal bouquet was of white carnations and sweet peas. The groom wore a black suit and white carnation boutonniere.

The couple was attended by Ellery Swim, brother of the bride, acting as best man, wearing a grey suit. Miss Kathryn Navarre as first bridesmaid, was attired in aqua blue satin. The second attending couple, Chester Luzinski, wearing grey stripe suit, Miss Marjorie Kubera was attired in white satin and net and corsage. Third attending couple, Walter Lukasiewicz, wore a blue sit and Miss Audrey Schultze was attired in pale blue satin and net. Maid of honor, Miss Betty Hanson, was attired in white satin with net. The bridesmaids carried bouquets of pink carnations and sweet peas.

After the ceremony a reception was held at the P.N.A. Hall in Thorp, where dinner and supper were served to about 150 guests, with dancing in the afternoon and evening. Music was furnished by the Jolly Melodiers.

The dining room was decorated in pink, blue and white streamers, with the wedding cake adorning the bride and groom’s table. Bouquets of snapdragons were place on each end of the table. The guests’ table had fruit decorations. The hall was decorated in pink and white streamers.

The couple received many nice gifts and donations from the bride’s dance.
