An impressive marriage ceremony was witnessed by friends and relatives of the contracting parties, Dorothy Neiman and Robert W. Slota, both of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), on Thursday, May 22, 1947, at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, culminating a long courtship, conducted almost in its entirety through correspondence, while Lieut. Slota served in the Pacific Theater during the late unpleasantness.

The Nuptial Mass was sung and conducted under the able direction of Rev. A..M. Muckerheide, assisted by his well-trained and alert altar boys and the choir.

The affair was simplicity in itself. The wedding party, consisting of the bride and groom, with George A. Tamm, brother-in-law of the bride, and Mary Ellen Tamm, sister of the bride, in attendance, arrived promptly at nine o’clock. The processional was played as Mary Ellen stepped slowly down the center aisle. Her gown of yellow organza made with a full circular sweep, enhanced by a series of ruffles around the back was a perfect compliment to her dark beauty. She carried a bouquet of purple daisies, matching the purple daisy cap adorning her dark hair. She was met at the altar railing by her husband, George Tamm. The attending couple then assumed their proper places.

The bride, on the arm of her step-father Lee J. Snyder, followed down the center aisle at the proper interval. Her bridal gown carried out the theme emphasized throughout the celebration - simple beauty. It was of white organza. Her head was crowned with daisies matching the bouquet held in her arms.

The only decorations in the church were the baskets of gladioli on either side of the gate on the altar railing and the flowers on altar, all entering into the general scheme of quiet beauty. After the mass and partaking of communion by the couple and their attendants, the party met at the Rectory to complete and have witnessed the necessary papers.

A wedding breakfast was served to the immediate family, after which open house was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. L. J. Snyder from two until four in the afternoon for the friends and business associates.

The happy couple are now spending their honeymoon at Eagle River. After their return they will make their home in Madison, Wis., where the groom is completing a course in forestry and soil at the University of Wisconsin.
