OWEN -- Terrence "Terry" Schoening, Owen, died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2008, in the Palliative Care Unit of Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield. A "Celebration of Life" is being planned.
Terry was born July 13, 1947, to Robert and Rachel (Hammond) Schoening in Minneapolis, Minn. He graduated from Edina High School and attended the University of Minnesota, where he graduated from the College of Pharmacy. He met Cheryl Rohland in 1971 and they were married Sept. 9, 1972, at the Nazareth Lutheran Church in Withee. Terry and Cheryl lived in Stillwater, Minn., and Terry worked as a pharmacist for Group Health Plan. In 1993, they moved to rural Owen. They both loved the country and enjoyed the peace that comes with living close to the earth. He led a rich and valiant life despite the many complications of diabetes. Terry was a champion of life who inspired everyone who knew him. Terry is survived by Cheryl, his wife and partner of 36 years; mother, Rachel Schoening of Minneapolis; sister, Susan (Gerald) Gustafson of Tucson, Ariz.; and many other relatives. Many cherished friends will miss him.
His father preceded Terry in death.
