Weller, Elizabeth (11 July 1874 - 5 Apr. 1958)
Mrs. Charles Weller died Saturday, April 5, at 12:40 P.M. at the age of 83 years, eight months and 25 days. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Zion Lutheran church, Rev. Wm. R. Christian officiating, and internment was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery. Pall bearers were William Mueller, Walter Mueller, Edward Mueller, Fred Beisner, Henry Hoffman and George Weller.
Mrs. Weller was born in Wieseck by Giesen, Germany, on July 11, 1874. She first settled in Chicago, Ill. She married Chas. Weller at Colby on January 18, 1896 and resided on a farm in the town of Hull for 41 years after which they moved to Colby in 1937. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1946. Mr. Weller passed away in September, 1951.
Surviving are four children, Mrs. Oscar (Edna) Habeck of Colby, Mrs. Fred (Hattie) Turner and Mrs. Chas. (Tillie) Calvert of Chicago, Ill., and Ervin Weller of Marshfield; one sister, Mrs. Karl Deck, and two brothers, William Hofman and Karl Hofman, all of Germany.
Mrs. Weller was well known by older members of the community for her fine Christian character and her industrious disposition, always endeavoring to do her duties well.
Out of town people here for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Fred Turner and Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Calvert of Chicago, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Weller of Marshfield, Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Morella and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hoffman of Stratford, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Weller and Mrs. Hamarlund of Wauwatosa, Wm. Weller, Mrs. Clara Kuss and Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Weller and children of Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. John Kastorff of Fond du Lac, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Beisner of Dorchester, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Mueller of Athens, Mrs. Ella Kanter of Unity and Mrs. Clarence Weller of Abbotsford, Wis.
