Hanson, Gloria Mae (Marriage - May 1958)

Gloria Mae Hanson of Unity, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Hanson, and Bernard Eugene Klabunde of Dorchester, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Klabunde, were united in marriage in Kingdom Hall at Dorchester, Arnold Ruprich reading the marriage. Miss Emily Hanson of Unity served as maid of honor and Miss Elaine Hanson of Unity was bridesmaid. The groom was attended by Donny Ward of Curtiss as best man and James Elison of Westboro as groomsman. Dale Elison and Roy Sanoch were ushers.

The bride was attired in a white waltz-length gown, net and lace over satin, scalloped at the bottom, lace sleeves pointed at wrists, Italian scalloped neckline, sequins sewed on the bodice. Her colonial bouquet consisted of red and white roses and mums. Her attendants wore waltz-length dresses of lace over satin and net, in rose and mint green, respectively, head pieces of carnations tinted to match dresses. Their bouquets of carnations were tinted pink and green respectively. The bride’s veil and dress and the bridesmaids’ dresses were all made by the bride’s mother.

A reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents which was decorated with white, green and rose streamers and white bells after which the couple left on a short trip north but later a trip to New York. Their address will be Dorchester, Wis.

Guests were from Green Bay, Milwaukee, Wausau, Rothschild, Ashland, Friendship, Ladysmith, Colby, Dorchester, Curtiss and Silver Bay, Minn.

The groom is a graduate of Dorchester High School, class of 1956, and the bride is a graduate of Colby High School, class of 1957. She had been employed at Employers Mutual, Wausau. The groom is employed by the Colby Milling Co.
