Greske, William (9 Aug. 1834 - 11 June 1935)
William Greske, 100-year-old pioneer farmer, living at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Frome, died Tuesday. Old age was given as the cause of his death.
Mr. Greske was born Aug. 9, 1834, in Pommerania, Germany and emigrated to America on a vessel that required seven weeks to cross the ocean.
He settled at Theresa, Dodge county, where he lived for seven years. In 1877 he moved to the farm where he continued to live until his death.
Last August when Mr. Greske observed his 100th birthday anniversary, members of Zion Lutheran church honored him with a celebration.
Mr. Greske will be buried from the Zion Lutheran church at Colby at 12:45 Friday afternoon. Internment will be in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery with the Rev. O. H. Hoffman officiating.
