Zielanis, Katherine (1881 - 4 AUG 1947)

Mrs. Katherine Zielanis (nee Giwojna), 66, passed away of a heart ailment on Monday, Aug. 4, 1947 at Sacred Heart Hospital at Eau Claire.

The deceased was born in 1881 in Poland. At the age of 18 years she came to this county and lived with her uncle, Jos. Giwojna until 1904, when she was united in marriage to Joseph Zielanis. She has resided on the home farm in the Town of Withee (Clark Co., Wis.) since that time with her husband, the farm being operated now by their son Alfred and wife. Mrs. Zielanis had been in ill health for several months.

Surviving are her husband and seven children, Stanley of Rib Lake, Leon of Thorp, Helen (Mrs. Walter Monser), Anne (Mrs. Fred Hillery), and Elvina (Mrs. Guy Latimer) of Chicago, Alfred of Thorp and Jeanette of Downey, Ill., one brother, Joseph Giwojna of Owen, and seven grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at St. Hedwig’s Church on August 7th at 10 o’clock, Rev. Francis Piekarski officiating, and interment following in the parish cemetery.

Pallbearers were: Geo. Jakowicz, Peter Jarocki, Frank Bartosiewicz, John Kliminski, Fred Petrulis and John Kozenko.
