Baumgart, Minnie (12 Dec. 1882 - 2 Aug. 1958)
Mrs. Godfrey Baumgart, of Unity, Wisconsin died Saturday morning in the Marshfield, Wisconsin Hospital at the age of 75 years. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 in Zion Lutheran church in Colby, Wis., Rev. F. H. Sprengler of Abbotsford officiating, and internment was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery. Pall bearers were Angus Lamont, John Marx, Wm. Singstock, Carl Wilke, Otto Kuehling and Tom Loughead.
Minnie Prange was born on December 12, 1882, in Barzin Henter, Pommern, Germany, where she received her education. Early in life, she came to the United States, to the Colby area, where she married Godfrey Baumgart on October 31, 1903. He preceded her in death. They lived on a farm here until 1946 when they moved to Unity, Wis.
Surviving are one daughter, Helen Baumgart of West Bend; four sons, Theodore Baumgart and Orville Baumgart of Colby; Fred Baumgart of Owen, Irvin Baumgart of Wisconsin Rapids; eight grand children; two great grand children; four brothers, August Prange of Milwaukee, Carl Prange of Unity, Otto Prange of Wisconsin Rapids and William Prange of Ridgeland. One child, three brothers and four sisters also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Baumgart, like all the early inhabitants of this area, was a good Christian, honest in all her dealings and always performed her duties well. Being of a kindly and friendly disposition, she had many friends who will miss her.
