St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, Thorp (Clark Co.), Wis., was the setting of an impressive informal wedding at nine o’clock, Saturday morning, Oct. 25, 1947, when Rev. Arnold M. Muckerheide joined in holy matrimony, Mrs. Helen Rowan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. C. Boardman of Thorp, and Mrs. Thomas Tobola, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jos. Tobola of Thorp.

The bride chose a cream d’ cacao suit with brown accessories and wore a cattleya orchid. Her bridesmaid, Mrs. Leo Hedler, wore a grey ballerina suit with black and white accessories. Her corsage was of pink delight roses. Mrs. Gordon Wolf wore a brown ballerina suit with brown accessories and her corsage was of yellow Gloria roses.

Attendants were Leo Hedler as best man and Gordon Wolf. Ushers at the church were Claybourne Bogumill and Fred Hedler.

Following the ceremony a reception was held at the P.N.A. Hall, where festivities continued throughout the day and evening for about two hundred and fifty guests.

After graduating from Thorp High School, Mrs. Tobola attended Milwaukee County School of Nursing at Wauwatosa and has been doing part time nursing at the Victory Hospital at Stanley.

Mr. Tobola is a graduate of Thorp High School and served in the ordnance department of the Army for three and one-half years, also serving overseas and now is proprietor of the Ford Garage at Cadott, Wis.

Mr. and Mrs. Tobola left on a motor wedding trip, which will include Albuquerque, N.M.. During the war Mr. Tobola commanded a regiment of fellows from there.

Mr. and Mrs. Tom Tobola will reside at Cadott in the near future and the best wishes of the community is extended to them.
