Walter, Nadine Beryl (Vircks) (August 31, 1940 - December 2, 2008)
Nadine Beryl Walter, age 68, of Thorp died at Our Lady of Victory Hospital, in Stanley, on Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2008. There will be no public services held.
Nadine Beryl Vircks was born on Aug. 31, 1940, in Dorchester, the eldest child of Lester and June (Paulson) Vircks. As a young child, her family moved to Stanley where Nadine was raised and received her education.
She was united in marriage to Arland Walter on April 5, 1958, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, in Stanley. Nadine worked as a CNA at the Stanley Hospital in the maternity ward, and then later in the nursing home from 1961 until 1968. Then in 1968, they devoted 31 years of their lives to farming until retiring in 1999.
Nadine was a very intelligent and a very private woman. She enjoyed reading, planting flowers, and watching birds. Collecting pictures of family members and studying with Shepherd's Chapel bible study, were two of her passions. Most of all, she took great pleasure in taking care of those around her.
Nadine is survived by her husband of 50 years, Arland, of Thorp; four children, Linda (James) Meyer of Abbotsford, David Walter of Thorp, Donna (James) Johnson of Colby, and Brenda (Bruce) Moeller of Cadott; nine grandchildren, Shana, Jackie, Nathan, Jason, Ryan, Sara, Becky, Maria, Jessica; and her great-granddaughter, Havannah; who all knew her lovingly as "Deanie." She is also survived by two brothers, Glen Vircks of Boyd, Dennis (Linda) Vircks of Santa Anna, Calif.; and one sister, Debra (Joe) Tomandl of Medford.
It was a blessing for us all to have known her. She is deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
Thorp Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
