Fenske, Marlis (Marriage - 23 Aug. 1958)

Miss Marlis Fenske, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Fenske, and Charles Kliefoth, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Kliefoth, all of Abbotsford, exchanged marriage vows Saturday morning, Aug. 23, before a nuptial high mass in St. Bernard’s Catholic church. Rev. Raymond B. Schulz read the double ring service at 9:30.

For her wedding, the bride selected a gown of net and lace designed with short sleeves and a hoop skirt. Sequins detailed the bodice. She wore lace mitts, a lace hat with short veil and carried a bouquet of white gladioli and stephanotis.

Attending her sister as matron of honor was Mrs. Bud Emerich, of Baraboo. The bridesmaid was Mrs. Irve Kliefoth of Abbotsford, Wis. They were dressed alike in hoop skirted frocks of shrimp colored net with lace jackets and matching hats. They carried bouquets of white glads and yellow chrysanthemums.

Irve Kliefoth attended as best man and Bud Emerich was groomsman.

The miniature bride, dressed like the bride, and miniature groom, were Miss Sharon Fenske, niece of the bride, of Dorchester, and Bruce Kliefoth, nephew of the groom, of Abbotsford, Wis.

Seating the guests were Norman Fenske, brother of the bride, and Allen Baronsky, cousin of the groom.

Mrs. Fenske wore a navy blue dress for her daughter’s wedding and Mrs. Kliefoth appeared in light blue. Both had white accessories and a corsage of pink roses and white carnations.

Following the ceremony, breakfast was served for the bridal party at Jerkwater. In the afternoon, a reception was held at the home of the groom’s parents, and a 5:00 o’clock dinner was served in the Abbotsford school dining room, where covers were laid for 100 guests.

The new Mrs. Kliefoth pinned an orchid corsage to her going away costume when she and her husband left on a week’s honeymoon trip to the north shore of Lake Superior. When they return they will live at Abbotsford, Wis.

The groom is employed as announcer at radio station WIGM and at Zuber’s All Metal Stamping. He is a graduate of the Abbotsford high school and the Wausau Vocational School. His bride is a 1956 graduate of Dorchester high school.

Guests at the wedding came from Baraboo, Milwaukee, Oconomowoc, Marshfield, Shawano, Medford, Stetsonville, Dorchester, Milan, Owen, Withee, Abbotsford and Pennsylvania.
