Wolk, Joanne E. (Marriage - 13 Sept. 1958)
Miss Joanne E. Wolk, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Emil Wolk of Colby, and Emery W. Rahm, son of Mr. and Mrs. Emery W. Rahm of Spencer, Wisconsin, Route 2, were united in marriage at the First Evangelical and Reformed church in Colby Saturday, Sept. 13, at 2 P.M., Rev. V. O. Grosshuesch officiating at the ceremony.
The bride was attired in a floor-length gown of rose point lace over satin. The fitted bodice featured a Sabrina neckline with long lace sleeves which tapered over the wrists in points. Her full gathered skirt had a front and back lace panel, nylon tulle on the sides with appliquéd flowers. Her silk illusion veil fell from a crown trimmed with seed pearls. Her bouquet consisted of yellow and white carnations and pink roses.
The matron of honor, Mrs. Al Beyerl of Colby, sister of the bride, and the bridesmaids, Miss Betty Kowalk of Colby, a friend of the bride, and Mrs. Donald Hansen of Spencer, Wisconsin, Route 2, sister of the groom, wore identically styled gowns, the former’s in water cotillion blue and the bridesmaids in water rose. The dresses were floor-length of nylon net and taffeta. The strapless taffeta and net bodice had taffeta jackets, full net skirts featuring three bands of taffeta encircling the skirts, horse hair braid tiaras trimmed with seed pearls of matching colors. Their colonial bouquets consisted of yellow and white carnations.
The bride’s mother wore a navy blue dress with accessories to match.
The groom was attended by Ronald Rahm of Marshfield, a cousin of the groom, Richard Berguhn of Menomonee and Donald Hansen of Spencer, Wisconsin, Route 2.
A reception was held at the Kolby Park and supper was served in the parish hall which was decorated with pink and blue streamers with bells. In the evening, a wedding dance was held in the Kolby Park. Miss Elaine Stock of Stratford was in charge of the guest book.
The groom is employed by the Lloyd L. Felker Company of Marshfield and the bride is employed at the west side office of the Employers Mutual, Wausau.
Guests were from Wausau, Sheboygan, Oshkosh, Marshfield, Stratford, Abbotsford, Loyal, Spencer, Marathon and Colby, Wis.
