Mr. and Mrs. Emil Venzke celetrated their golden wedding anniversary Sunday, June 13, at their home in the town of Holton.

Mr. Venzke and the former Lydia Jurgermeyer were married June 9, 1915, at Bethlehem Lutheran church in Milan.  They were the first couple to be married in the church and are still active members.

They operated a farm in the town of Johnson and in 1956 retired to the old home place of Mr. Venzke, in the town of Holton.

The Venzkes have 10 children, all of whom were present except George of Cedar Rapids, Ia.  There are 44 grand children and four great grand children.

The children are Robert Venzke, rural Dorchester, Mrs. Ray (Ruby) Denzin, rural Abbotsford, Mrs. Klinka (Alva) Hargraves, route 2, Athens, Edward Venzke, route 1, Hubertus, Benno Venzke, route 2, Athens, Mrs. Milton (Pearl) Tischendorf, route 1, Hubertus, Mrs. Ted (Lois) Tobolski, of Wauwatosa, George Venzke, Cedar Rapids, Ia., James Venzke, route 1, Abbotsford, and Mrs. Donald (Stella) Schauer, route 1 Abbotsford.
