Pink carnations and white gladioli adorned the
church altar for the wedding of Miss Wendy Rae Sands and James Richard Resong
who were married Saturday, August b6, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church,
Neillsville.
The Rev. George Nelson, pastor of St. Mary’s Church
officiated.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. James Sands; and Mr.
and Mrs. John Resong, Neillsville.
Mr. Sands gave his daughter in
marriage at the 1:30 p.m.ceremony and Mass for which Brother Francis was the
organist and the Brothers of St. Pius & choir of DeSota sang. The Communion
solo, “The Lord is my Shephard,” was sung by Brother Conrad.
The bride
wore a chantilly lace over taffeta dress designed with a scalloped Sabrina
neckline, basque bodice and a full skirt having a ruffled tier. The train fell
from two bows at the shoulder line and her veil from a leaf cluster headpiece
decorated with seed pearls. Her bouquet consisted of pink and white carnations
with pink rosebuds.
Miss Kris Englebretson, Loyal, was the maid of honor;
and Miss Mary Ann Resong, Neilsville was the bridesmaid.
The aides wore
pink floor-length dresses with empire waists, crepe skirts and lace bodices over
taffeta and carried white carnations and pink rosebuds. Their headpieces were
designed like that of the bride.
John Hoesly, Marshfield, was the best
man; and Randall Sands, Prescott, was groomsman.
Kent Dull, Loyal, and
Larry Marshall, Neillsville ushered the guests attending from Racine, Loyal,
Marshfield, Prescott, Green Bay, Sheboygan, and Iowa.
All of the wedding
events including a reception, dinner and dance took place in the Legion Hall at
Neillsville.
The bride attended school for the first three years of high
school in Loyal and was a 1966 graduate of Prescott High School, Prescott. The
groom is a 1966 graduate of Neillsville High School and is employed at Nelson
Muffler Co., Neillsville. After a wedding trip to southern Wisconsin the couple
will make their home in Neillsville.
