Sauer, Darlene A. (22 July 1952 - 24 November 2008)
Darlene A. Sauer, 56, of Eau Claire died Monday, November 24, 2008, at Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield as a result of an automobile accident. She was born in West Bend, Wisconsin on July 22, 1952, a daughter of Arthur and Annabelle (Hefter) Sauer.
She lived with her family "down home" in Kewaskum until moving with her family to Thorp in 1966. She was baptized at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Barton where she attended first through third grades. She was confirmed at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Newburg where she graduated from eighth grade. Darlene took pride in singing in the choir and graduated from Thorp High School with the class of 1970; of which she planned and organized all class reunions.
Darlene was always a hard worker and spent the last several years working with L. L. Stewart Real Estate. She was an avid card player who loved playing sheepshead, rummy and 500 with family and friends. She loved dancing to the golden oldies, especially Neil Diamond. She treasured the simple joys of life and being surrounded by family, friends & laughter. People could always count on Darlene for sound advice and wisdom. She endured many hardships yet was always positive and lived her life to the fullest.
Darlene prided herself in the values instilled by her parents by passing them on to her children, who she loved with all heart. She achieved her main goal in life by seeing them mature into strong, upstanding adults with a strong devotion to family.
Darlene is survived by her fiancé, LaVerne L. Stewart of Eau Claire; her parents, Arthur and Annabelle Sauer of Thorp; four children, David Hodorowski of Brooklyn, NY; Neil Hodorowski, of Eau Claire; Steven Hodorowski of Minneapolis, MN, and Heidi Hodorowski also of Minneapolis, MN; her grandson, Everett Arthur Phillip Hodorowski of Eau Claire; three sisters, Carol (Dennis) Hedler of Wasilla, AK; Patricia Raven of Hayward; Elaine (Frank) Horn of Thorp; two brothers, Mike Sauer and Jeffrey (April) Sauer both of Thorp; many nieces, nephews, and her beloved godchildren.
